Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand was an unforgettable experience! The other 'sanctuaries' shown in this video are not worthy of being called sanctuaries - they are working elephant parks. Please do not visit elephant sanctuaries / parks that include elephant trekking / riding of the elephants. Training methods are inhumane, they often involve negative reinforcement and force the elephants into submission. Baby elephants are torn from their mothers and a process called 'Pajan' or 'the breaking of the spirit' begins. Elephants have sharp, spiky bones in their spine, they have not evolved to be rode by humans and the weight of the rides causes serious damage to the elephants spine.
